Best laptop under 500

The finest laptops under $500 won't let you down because you didn't shell out a lot of money for them. Value-priced notebooks are available with full-HD displays, reliable performance, lengthy battery life, and all the connectors you require.

Even if it will be on the smaller side, a touch-screen laptop is still available in this price range. Even our best laptops(opens in new tab) page featured some of these.

The 15-inch Acer Aspire E 15 and the Acer Aspire 5 are the finest laptops under $500 with Windows 10 after examining dozens of inexpensive models. To assist you in choosing between the two, we even wrote a face-off contrasting the Acer Aspire E15 and Acer Aspire 5.

The HP Chromebook x2 and Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebooks are currently the best Chromebooks you can purchase for around $500. The $499 new Acer Swift 3 that we recently evaluated didn't perform well enough to make our list because of its short battery life.

Acer Aspire

Due to its potent 8th Gen Core i3 speed, vivid 1080p display, and long battery life, all for an inexpensive price, the Acer Aspire 5 earns its place at the top of the best laptops under $500 page. The Aspire 5 has more space for a battery that lasts nearly 9 hours on a charge despite being much slimmer than its sister, the Aspire E 15.

Although it lacks a DVD writer, it still has a respectable amount of ports. The display's excellent 276 nits of brightness results in a reasonable amount of contrast on the screen. Even the hood is made of metal. To top it off, the display's bezels are shockingly thin for a laptop this affordable. One of the greatest and most affordable laptops now on the market is the Aspire 5.

Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3

The Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3 poses as a tweed-bound journal to conceal its true identity. Lift the cover, though, and you'll reveal a multipurpose 2-in-1 laptop that also comes with a stylus in case you wanted to keep a journal.

The Detachable CM3 isn't the most powerful Chromebook, but its vivid display and handy design make it a great tool for web browsing and multimedia consumption that fits effortlessly into any bag. Although the CM3 is expensive for having a MediaTek chip inside, it more than makes up for it with a long battery life and a sturdy construction. One of the greatest laptops around $500, without a doubt.

HP Stream 11

You won't find a better Windows laptop for under $200, depending on the model you choose, than the HP Stream 11. The Stream sports a lightweight, 11-inch chassis that weighs 2.5 pounds and is only 0.7 inches thick. Despite having a boring, black paint job on our particular model, the HP Stream 11 is still charming due to its small size.

The Stream 11's Intel Celeron N4000 processor and 4GB of RAM were able to manage 10 Microsoft Edge tabs and a 1080p YouTube movie, though you shouldn't expect much for the price. On our battery test, the device ran smoothly for 9 hours and 19 minutes. Although a tad small, the keyboard has respectable key travel. The HP Stream 11 is one of the best and cheapest laptops to get if you're on a limited budget.

Samsung Chromebook 4

superior to the $229 Samsung Chromebook 4. It endured our battery test for a full 10 hours and 36 minutes, making it the best laptop under $500 with the longest battery life. The Samsung Chromebook 4 closely resembles the countless MacBook knockoffs we've seen over the years thanks to its curved edges and silver colour. Its aluminium top is a little nicer than I had anticipated, but the plastic body of the laptop clearly reflects its high price.

The Samsung Chromebook 4's Intel Celeron 3000N processor and 4GB of RAM give adequate multitasking power, especially for the price. The keyboard on this device makes it ideal for those who primarily use laptops for typing; nevertheless, the screen and audio aren't up to snuff. However, it's a reliable ultraportable laptop because of how light it is and its respectable performance.

Acer Chromebook 317

The world's first 17.3-inch Chrome OS notebook is Best laptop under 500. When I initially heard this, I questioned, "Why? Is there a group of Chromebook fans who have been pleading with the gods for a cumbersome, awkward laptop? Don't most Chromebook users desire a portable, lightweight computer that is suitable for travel? But after using this laptop for a while, I realised there was a method to Acer's madness.

The Chromebook 317 has a market, and it's aimed at those with enormous hands who are sick of feeling as like they are typing with thick, meaty sausage links. The "go big or go home" mentality is what this laptop is about. You'll need to go big and go home in this situation, though. You would be better off leaving the Chromebook 317 stationed in your home office because it isn't extremely portable.
